WCMBR-20 Sewage Treatment Plant

The plant is applicable to treat the sewage from the toilets on ships to satisfy international standards for effluent
discharge. The plant can be used for sterilizing grey water on ships as well.
The plant adopts the principle of traditional aeration and contact oxidization biochemical treatment and chlorine
disinfection, using activated sludge and soft stuffing medium, Due to the air pump stop and start occasionally, it can solve
the nitration problem and overcome the sludge expansion caused by thread-like bacteria, which is also called “cancer” in
traditional continuous aeration treatment plant.
The specification and engineering structure are complied with the requirement of National Standard GB10833-89
《Marine Sewage Treatment system specification》. The effluent from SWCB also meet the discharge standard
requirement of IMO MEPC 2(VI). Meanwhile, it has obtained the Type Approval Certificate from CCS and IMO circular.

The WCMBR series unit has four parts: aeration tank, contact oxidizing tank, sediment tank and disinfection tank.
In the 1st stage aeration tank, the activated sludge mainly consisting of aerobic bacteria form sticky flock to absorb the
organic substance, break it into carbon dioxide and water under the condition of aerating and produce new activated sludge in the meantime. Soft film stuffing is hanged in the 2nd stage contact oxidizing compartment, the organic substance is further digested. The active sludge sediment accumulated in the setting tank is to be returned to the aeration tank for reproducting seeds and retreating.

The clear liquid is then led into the chlorination tank, and the remaining bacteria is killed by chlorine, the resulting
harmless liquid is discharged overboard by discharge pump.
