The purpose of a bridge navigational watch alarm system(BNWAS) is to monitor bridge activity and detect operator disability which could lead to marine acccidents. The system monitors the awareness of the officer of Watch(OOW) and automatically alerts the Captain or another qualified OOW if for any reason the OOW becomes incapable of performing the OOW'S Duties. Alarm to OOW first, if no respond, it will alert to captain or anther qualified OOW.
BNWAS system can provide call for immeidate assistance if required. The BNWAS shall be operated whenever the ship heading or tracking control system engaged, unless the capatian prohibited.
